National Diploma
National Diploma in Health Information Management is a program designed to provide candidates with the knowledge of skill, to assist in planning collating, organizing disseminating, monitoring and managing vital health information required at the local, state and federal levels in order to ensure effective and comprehensive national health care delivery. The duration of the National Diploma program shall be two academic sessions of four semesters including supervised clinical work experience.
Entry Requirements:
Five Credits including English, Mathematics, Biology, Physic or Chemistry and any other 1 subject in not more than 2 sittings.
Pre-Higher National Diploma
The Pre-Higher National Diploma Programme in Health Information Management is a Programme designed to provide candidates with Health Records Technician Certificates, or (HIT Certificate) with a prerequisites to undergo a Higher National Diploma (HND) Programme in Health information Management. The duration of the Pre-Higher National Diploma program shall be one academic session.
Entry Requirements:
- Five Credits including English, Mathematics, Biology, Physic or Chemistry and any other 1 subject in not more than 2 sittings.
ii. Health Records Technician Certificate with a minimum of Lower Credit.
Higher National Diploma
Higher National Diploma in Health Information Management is a program designed to provide candidates with the knowledge and skills to assist in planning, collating, organizing, disseminating, monitoring and managing vital Health Information required at the Local, State and Federal levels in order to ensure effective and comprehensive National Health Care Delivery. The duration of the Higher National Diploma program shall be two academic sessions of four semesters including supervised clinical work experience.
Entry Requirements:
- Five Credits including English, Mathematics, Biology, Physic or Chemistry and any other 1 subjects in not more than 1 sittings.
ii. National Diploma Certificates in Health Information Management with a
minimum of Lower Credit.
iii. Evidence of compulsory Industrial Training (IT) or attachment in a reputable Health Institution.
Please note that:
i) Pregnancy is not allowed during training.
ii) Selection of Candidates will be on the basis of academic qualification. A written examination and oral interview coupled with presentation of ORIGINAL CERTIFICATES.
iii) Entrance Examination and Interview: (Dates will be communicated to candidates)
Admission into the School
Application into all Courses of study is made through the School Approved Application Form and or through Joint admission and Matriculation board (JAMB) for both National Diploma and the Higher National Diploma Programme of the school. Candidates are expected to sit for the selection examination on a specific date announced by the school Authority. Successful candidates are thus communicated on their success and admission after fulfilling the basic entry requirements.

Deferment of Admission
Admission is deferrable. However, after completion of registration in the school a newly registered student may defer a semester or course(s) by a written application to the school coordinator. Such deferment is valid only through a written approval by the school coordinator.
Registration and Documentation
Registration and documentation are compulsory for every new and returning student at the beginning of each semester/session.
All registrations involve obtaining and completing relevant forms online, payment of necessary fees and registration for courses is online.
Note that each new student, on arrival, reports to the assigned Registration Officer with the following documents for verification:
Letter of offer of Admission.
A copy of the acceptance letter.
A letter of identification from the student’s Local Government Area.
A letter of good conduct. From student’s parent.
Six (6) recent passport-sized photographs;
A medical report.
2 Rims of A4 Paper Size.
Original copies of Certificates or original notification of result (statement of result Original Birth Certificate/Declaration of Age.
All Registration Forms must be returned to the Registration Officer of the school on completion of all Registration.
Late Registration
Any student who fails to register within two weeks of resumption is automatically considered as having lost his offer (in case of new students) and not qualified for normal registration (in case of returning students). The period for late registration is the third week from the first day of the semester, except otherwise decided by the school Management.
Penalty for Late Registration
Late registration attracts a fee as may be decided from time to time by the school management-
Any returning student who fails to register at the expiration of the late registration period shall be advised to defer the semester.
Any student who registers late more than two consecutive times shall be made to face the Student Welfare and Disciplinary Committee for appropriate disciplinary action.
Any student who absconds from lectures without prior written permission by the appropriate authority for one semester shall be considered as self-withdrawal.
Matriculation
Matriculation is, simply a ceremony at which new students are confirmed as bona fide members of the School Community. Every new student is expected to matriculate before his entry into the academic community of the school. At the ceremony, new students are required to take an oath to observe the rules and regulations of the institution. This includes filling a form specially designed for the purpose.
